KUALA LUMPUR, 21 March – In line with the ongoing strict Movement Control Order (MCO) and in protecting the well-being of our staff, Rapid KL has revised the train and bus frequencies as approved by relevant authorities.

“Kindly check for updates on our social media platforms. Services will continue in support of the movement for the brave Malaysians in Essential Services. Take care, Malaysia. Let’s fight together to beat COVID-19,” Rapid KL said in a statement.

With immediate effect until 31 March 2020, the revised frequency for Rapid KL train services will be as follows:
• 10-minute frequency during peak hours on Monday – Friday: 7 am – 9 am and 4.30 pm – 7 pm
• 30-minute frequency during non-peak hours on Monday – Friday: 9 am – 4:30 pm and 7 pm -12 am; and Saturday, Sunday and public holidays: 6 am-12 am

“From today until 31 March 2020, we highly advise our passengers to plan their journey well, if they really need to go out for work or other urgent matters. Otherwise, we all should just #stayathome,” said Abdul Hadi Amran, Chief Executive Officer, Rapid Rail Sdn Bhd.

Rapid Bus, which operates Rapid KL stage bus services as well as Rapid Penang, Rapid Kuantan, Rapid Manjung dan Rapid Kamunting, is also making adjustments in line with ongoing MCO and in protecting the well-being of its staff.

Starting from 23 March 2020, Rapid Bus buses on the road will be reduced by 70%. The frequency will be slightly impacted given the drastically reduced road traffic conditions and the lower number of private vehicles on the road amid the MCO.

“Passengers who are still on duty for essential services need not fear as Rapid Bus will continue to provide buses for them. In easing worry amongst our Rapid Bus customers, for the period of the MCO, they may track the locations of their buses via the web app at myrapidbus.prasarana.com.my/kiosk, they may also call our helpline team for assistance.

“Alternatively, they may inquire via our social media channels. For Rapid Penang customers, they may download the Rapid Penang Journey Planner from GooglePlay,” said Rapid Bus, Chief Executive Officer, Encik Muhammad Yazurin Sallij.
