ALL RAPID KL FRONT LINE STAFF FULLY VACCINATED AGAINST COVID-19

KUALA LUMPUR, 29 SEPTEMBER – A total of more than 3,700 Rapid KL staff and associates who perform frontline duties have been fully vaccinated against the COVID-19 virus.

In addition to the three LRT lines – Kelana Jaya, Ampang and Sri Petaling lines, the MRT Kajang Line and the Monorail Line; and Rapid KL stage bus services, Prasarana Malaysia Berhad (Prasarana) – the umbrella company for Rapid Rail and Rapid Bus – had also made sure that the city’s Go KL free bus services, SMART Selangor, PJ City Bus, Bus Rapid Transit – Sunway Line and MRT Feeder bus services are also handled by fully vaccinated staff.

“Prasarana confirms that only fully vaccinated staff are allowed to work as frontliners for services in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor. This is to ensure protection of our employees as well as our customers against the pandemic. Additionally, we continue reminding them to strictly follow the SOPs and be alert at all times,” the public transport operator said in a statement here today.

To provide more safety and peace of mind for its commuters, all LRT, MRT and monorail trains; and all buses including BRT-Sunway Line, Go KL, SMART Selangor, PJ City Bus and MRT feeder buses are fully sanitised every day before they are put in service. Sanitisation exercises are also carried out at train stations, depots, and bus hubs.

Apart from some 1,700 full vaccinated staff on frontline duties for bus operations, Rapid Rail has more than 1,000 staff serving as customer service officers and train drivers at the LRT, MRT and monorail networks.

They are supported by 900-plus security personnel to help ensure safe and smooth travel for commuters using Prasarana public transport services in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor.
