KUALA LUMPUR, 15 August – In support of the upcoming 29th SEA Games, Prasarana Malaysia Berhad (Prasarana) has launched a special travel guide to provide fans a hassle-free traveling experience to enjoy the Games.
Rapid KL Travel Guide – Your Rapid Guide to the Games is available on-line to provide fans easy traveling options especially on Rapid KL networks – the LRT Ampang Line, LRT Sri Petaling Line, the LRT Kelana Jaya, the Monorail Line, the MRT Sungai Buloh – Kajang Line and the Rapid KL bus services including the environmental-friendly Bus Rapid Transit – Sunway Line.
As the Official Public Transport Provider for the 29th SEA Games, Rapid KL will be increasing its frequency of trains in accommodating the anticipated increase in ridership during the Games as well as tweaking some of the bus routes from their current service to provide direct travel to some of the Games’ venues.
Rapid KL will also provide additional bus service on weekends to MiTEC Game venue as well as extending the operating hours at Bukit Jalil LRT station during the 29th SEA Games opening and closing ceremonies.
The Travel Guide was launched by Youth and Sports Minister, YB Brig Gen. Khairy Jamaluddin, who also launched a new-look, vibrant Bukit Jalil Sport – Themed Station in conjunction with the upcoming Games. It can be downloaded at Prasarana’s official website at www.myrapid.com.my.
In using the Travel Guide, fans simply need to know their current location and the nearest Rapid KL and other train network based on an integrated rail network map provided in the guide, showing all the rail alignments in the Greater Klang Valley.
“Regardless where you are – if you are within reach or already in the Rapid KL network, the guide will be useful for you. Rapid KL provides seamless connections for LRT, MRT, BRT and the bus services. All carries the Rapid KL logo,” Prasarana said in a statement.
It added: “The guide uses three key locations for your travel guide –Pasar Seni (which is connected to the MRT and LRT Kelana Jaya Line) and the Pasar Seni bus hub; KL Sentral (which is connected to all the urban rail lines – MRT, LRT Kelana Jaya Line, monorail, ERL and the KTM Komuter); and Bandar Tasik Selatan LRT station, which is connected to KTM Komuter Seremban Line and the BTS Bus Terminal.
“Know where you are, and where you want to go. You need not go to these three guide points; but simply understand the connections” the statement said.
For traveling convenience, fans are also recommended to use the Rapid KL Journey Planner to find convenient ways to the Games venue. Fans simply need to log on to www.myrapid.com.my to get access to the Journey Planner.
Rapid KL is also an official partner for 9th ASEAN Para Games, which will also be held in Kuala Lumpur from 17 to 23 September, by providing buses equipped with universal access features.
