KUALA LUMPUR-Prasarana Malaysia Berhad – the driver in the transformation of Klang Valley’s public transport services – has added another feather in its hat after it was awarded with the Exemplary Company Award by the Ministry of Human Resources.
The award, which was presented by the ministry’s Secretary-General, YBhg. Dato’ Sri Adenan Bin Ab. Rahman, was accorded to Prasarana in conjunction with the 21st Manpower Department Training Institution (ILJTM)’s Convocation Ceremony 2016.
Held at Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC) recently, the award was accepted by Prasarana’s Chief Human Capital Officer, Encik Abdul Mutallif Manaf.
It was accorded to Prasarana in recognition of the Group’s cooperation and contribution to the ministry’s Manpower Department and Training Institutions through various engagement and recruitment activities with its Advanced Technology Training Centre, or ADTEC.
The centre, among others, runs a special programme for the ministry in developing curriculum for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) graduates.
Commenting on the award, Encik Mutallif said Prasarana, which employs some 8,000 staff in various disciplines, was proud to be accorded with the prestigious award; and that it would spur the staff to elevate further the quality of their job performance. “We are working together with ADTEC to provide an avenue for their students to complete their studies by doing their internship with us, and subject to completion and fulfillment of other requirements, to provide opportunities for employment,” he added.
