MORE THAN 230,000 MIGRATED TO MYRAPID TNG CARDS

KUALA LUMPUR, 1 August – More than 230,000 commuters have migrated to the new MyRapid Touch ‘n Go cards (TnG) under the MyRapid card migration exercise, which ended yesterday.

Of the total, more than 60,000 were concession cards for senior citizens, students and people with disability (OKU), Prasarana Malaysia Berhad (Prasarana) said in a statement today.

Some 20,000 new MyRapid TnG concession cards were also issued during the exercise, which commenced on July 15 to facilitate seamless travel within all Rapid KL’s travel networks – the bus services in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor including the Bus Rapid Transit – Sunway Line, LRT Kelana Jaya Line, LRT Ampang Line, LRT Sri Petaling Line, Monorail Line and the MRT Sungai Buloh – Kajang Line that was fully opened on 17 July.

With the conclusion of the migration exercise, Prasarana said the temporary concession card migration counters at Subang Jaya and Awan Besar LRT stations was closed at 7pm yesterday.

“The concession card migration counter at Sri Rampai LRT station, however, will continue to operate until 15 August, between 9am and 5pm from Mondays to Saturdays; except on public holidays, to manage any isolated cases of those whom have yet to do the migration due to unforeseen circumstances.

“The permanent concession card counter at the Pasar Seni bus hub would also operate between 9am and 5pm from Mondays to Saturdays.

“We would like to thank all our customers for their support. MyRapid TnG cards would further enhance their travel convenience, provide more savings and reduce time travel. Hence, we strongly advise our customers to use the MyRapid TnG cards or any other TnG cards for their travels instead of purchasing tokens from the machines every time they want to travel,” the statement added.
